Xiaoxin Li is Chairperson and Professor for the Eye Center and Eye Institute of Peking University People's Hospital. She is an academic committee member of Peking University Health Science Center and former Dean of Ophthalmology Faculty of Peking University Science Center. She is currently Past President of the Chinese Ophthalmology Society (COS) and President of the Chinese Ocular Fundus Society (Vitreo-Retina Society). Last year, Professor Li accepted the position of Director of Ophthalmology at the Health Human Resources Development Center, and oversees the national evaluation exam for Ophthalmologists in China. She served as a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Global Advisors Committee from 2007 to 2011, and was a board member of the International Council of Ophthalmology from 2010 to 2012.
Professor Li has contributed significantly to ophthalmic training and education, especially in the vitreo-retinal area within China. She has organized numerous lectures, seminars, workshops, and courses on this topic, over the past two decades. Professor Li is also an advocate of improving training materials, and has written and edited several ophthalmology books. Professor Li has authored or co-authored more than 200 papers in both Chinese and international journals, and is the Editor in Chief of the journal 'Retina'.
